“Dr. Dale”, as she is known, is a licensed psychologist with more than twenty-five years of experience as a relationship expert focusing on hearing loss, social skills, marriage, divorce, parenting, blended families, aging well, transitions and living a balanced live.

Author of several books, articles and journals for popular and professional audiences, Dr. Atkins is a much sought after lecturer and keynote speaker at international conferences and seminars as well as frequent media commentator on among others, "The Today Show."

Her newest book, Sanity Savers: Tips for Women to Live a Balanced Life is based on her monthly newsletter, "Sanity Savers and More." She is the author of I’m OK, You’re My Parents, (How to Overcome Guilt, Let Go of Anger, and Create a Relationship That Works) and SISTERS: A Practical, Helpful Exploration of the Intimate and Complex Bond between Female Siblings.

She co-authored Wedding Sanity Savers based on her WeddingChannel.com advice column, From the Heart: Men and Women Write their Private Thoughts about their Married Lives, and "NO! GO! TELL!" A training program for the prevention and treatment of sexual abuse of young children. She edited Families and their Hearing Impaired Children.

Dr. Dale consults for and has appeared in several educational videos and documentaries and she created and hosts Dr. Dale’s Life Issues, a unique talk show, aired weekly on PBS and cable which examines and confronts critical life experiences.

Dr. Atkins consults internationally with and conducts seminars for management and employees of corporations, hospitals, resorts and cruise organizations, and educational institutions in matters related to wellness, aging well, marriage, parenting, communication, work, life transitions and maintaining a balanced life. She created a number of symposia.

Dr. Dale is known for her warmth, personality, intellect, and humor. With a special gift for presenting complex psychology, sociology, and education research in understandable terms she appeals to a wide variety of audiences. She spends much of her time involved on the Boards of several local and national organizations, as well as outdoors, hiking, and scuba diving.

Dr. Atkins, and her husband, Robert Rosen, live in CT. They have two sons, two daughters in law and 4 grandchildren.
