Intimate Portraits: The Hardest Thing (Part 1)

Shari Michael seemingly had it all--the kids, the great house, the husband and lots of nice things--but she wasn't fulfilled or happy in her marriage. Her turning point came when she lost her mother and sister to breast and ovarian cancer and discovered she, too, carried the gene for both diseases.

Staring at the sun

I recommend this, by Irvin D. Yalom. Shari should read it. Perhaps she has already. It's great. I was moved by this video. I suppose it must have been hard for Shari. I imagine - without knowing anything about her marriage - that she must have felt "ungrateful" - her friends telling her to look at what she did have etc. whilst not being able to see in. I stayed in an empty relationship until January, when I found out some awful truths - which turned my world vision upside down. It's amazing how, even now, I still keep wondering what I did wrong, and have to realize that the answer was nothing - other than not leaving - not living. I look forward to hearing more from Shari. I like this site - just discovered it.

It is always difficult to be

It is always difficult to be facing numerous problems in a particular time and it may seem impossible just to think of getting through it. But we must at least try, for if we not we won't even get a glimpse of what is ahead if we overcome it all. Not trying will only left us with our doomed assumption of what will be if we fail. I admire her courage of facing so many problems in her life, after all we should live life with courage and hope. Without courage, without hope, life wouldn't be worth dubbing as an experience....
