Crashing The Workout
It's finally time to travel home and while I'm packed, The Dick keeps changing the time he will be here. Since the first time he gave me, the estimated time of departure has been delayed thirty two hours.
It's okay because I have something to do before I leave. It seems there is somebody in this town who remembers me and has been talking about me, and that makes me curious.
My brother is a personal trainer, and a new client — Dave — keeps talking about me. Apparently, we graduated from high school together. That was many years ago, but Dave remembers me.
I don't remember him, but I'm crashing his training session anyway. At $175 an hour, his focus has been on asking my brother about me, rather than on training tips, so really, what girl wouldn't be interested?
I arrived early and involved myself in a conversation with my soon to be sister-in-law. As I pretended to be there to say goodbye to my brother, I was reintroduced to Dave.
Familiar eyes, but a name I couldn't recall from twenty some years ago. I decided to ask Dave out for a cup of coffee after his training session, since I still had a few hours to wait until The Dick's scheduled arrival. Dave jumped at the chance and agreed to meet me an two hours later.
We chatted about old schoolmates, our children, and marriages gone awry. We exchanged numbers and email addresses, but I think I'll wait for him to make the next move.
It was a ballsy move asking him out for coffee, and I'm not sure I want to replace the who with balls — just yet.
Why the hell not? Good for
Why the hell not? Good for you for putting yourself out there!

I don't know!!
I don't know!! I did follow coffee with an email, thanking him for pleasant conversation and such and thought that should be enough action on part. I don't want to look to terribly desperate...even if I am!

I used to think that I was a little "desperate"... until I was faced with the potential to date. I quickly found out that I wasn't that desperate at all, quite the contrary. I took a good look at who I am and decided that I would be better off waiting for the right guy rather than throwing myself at men that see me as desperate. (FYI, I'm 50 and have 5 young kids...what man in his right mind wants that? lol) If he doesn't respond to your email quickly keep on moving! My experience tells me that men like a challenge. Make sure he knows how busy and accomplished you are through your mutual friends. I hope he calls!
