I Didn't Want Him To Call, So He Did
As you may recall, while out with a girlfriend of mine the other night, I ended up giving a guy my phone number. And, as I previously mentioned, I'm not sure why I did.
I was hoping that he just wouldn't call so that I wouldn't have to deal with it. But, of course, when you don't want the guy to call, he calls.
He ended up calling me a few days later saying that he had a great time hanging out and would love to meet up again. Knowing that he could detect the hesitation in my voice, I replied, "Yeah, maybe something casual like coffee or something." Aaaahhh! Why didn't I just say, "Thanks, but no thanks"?
He agreed, but before hanging up the phone he suggested that maybe grabbing a drink or dinner would be even better. He said to call him and we could set up an evening to meet. I had no intentions of calling him back.
Well, a few days later I received three text messages from him. Technically, it was one long text message that he broke down into three separate transmissions. He again said that he had a great time and wanted to meet up, perhaps at a new wine bar that had opened in my neighborhood.
I did not text him back.
Either he will get the hint soon enough, or if he calls again I may just explain that I'm not interested instead of just ignoring his call.
