A Dreamy Dream From The Past

The other night, I had a dream. I was sitting in what I think was a restaurant, and in walked a guy I haven't seen — let alone really thought about — since I was in eighth grade.

His name was Brett, and he was a ninth grader. He was one of the heartthrobs, but he had a long-time girlfriend throughout most of the school year, so I never really talked with him much. Then came the night of the big "Ninth Grade Dance." Even though I was in eighth grade, I had a lot of friends in ninth grade, so I decided to go with them.

Brett was there, and he had just broken up with his girlfriend. I had recently broken up with my boyfriend. There I was, at the dance, watching others have a good time, when Brett came up and asked me to dance! Of course, I said yes — and as we were dancing he kissed me! We never became an "item," but I certainly got some curiosity out of my system and I guess he did as well.

The other night, he made a guest appearance in my dreams. He walked into this restaurant, and we embraced as if — though we hadn't seen each other for years — we had somehow kept in contact. In the dream, I think he said he was living in Boston, but would be making more frequent trips to New York.

What does it mean? I have no idea. Sometimes dreams can be so odd.
