Norman's Lawyers Cry Slander

There's blood in the water! And it belongs to Greg Norman, say the "great white's" lawyers in response to what they assert are false and defamatory claims made earlier this week by his ex-wife-to-be.

Allegations by Laura Norman that she's been starved, locked out of her home and cut off from her credit cards, made headlines this week around the globe--particularly in the golf pro's native Australia.

Along with describing Laura's claims as "unfounded and grossly inaccurate," the shark's lawyers portrayed the situation as truly absurd. Not only did they list five credit cards that Laura's still using, but evidence showing her monthly spending is up more than 50% since the divorce proceedings began last year! And what about the claims that Greg changed the locks on the couple's $21 million Florida mansion? Only after she changed them first, according to Greg's lawyer Martin Haines.

Prepared to bite back, Haines said his client "reserves the right to bring action against both wife (Laura) and her attorneys for libel and/or defamation of character."

Who's telling the truth at this point is anyone's guess. Still, in a $300 million divorce, it's probably safe to assume no one's going to starve.
