A Macchiato And A Man

My cousin's wife called me today. She was bragging about how cute her kids are, and revealed that they picked up a guy for me — in Starbucks!

This is the same cousin who introduced me to the guy who never called. But, she said this one was extremely attractive, so I was eager to hear what she had to say.

Apparently, the barista mixed up her coffee with a guy named Rich. They started to talk, and somehow got onto personal things — specifically, that he called off his engagement about eight months ago. He was tall, 35 years old, really outgoing, and great with kids — a 7 out of 10. He sounded like a Grand Slam to me!

Her ten year old son, Jack — quite mature for his age — started to talk about his single cousin, Michelle. When he asked "Who's Michelle?," my cousin gave him the lowdown on me. Then she called me, while they were still standing there!

He got on the phone, and we talked for a few minutes. He said he normally wouldn't take some random person's word for it, but he thought my cousins were great, and asked if it would be okay to call me later. Of course, I said yes. What did I have to lose?

He called me that evening, just like he said he would, and we talked for over an hour. The conversation was fantastic, we laughed the entire time, and realized we share many of the same values.

He said he would call me later on in the week, but was I free to go out with him the upcoming Friday evening. A Friday evening dinner date? Not a random Tuesday night to grab a drink? Quite impressive! I'm in!
