Dorothy Stahlnecker is a Co-founder of Grammology. Born July 15, 1946, Dorothy is a proud member of the Grandmother generation. Dorothy is at the forefront of a movement toward “The new kind of Grandmother.”
As many others of a certain age, Dorothy does not have a college degree. This has not inhibited her from fashioning a distinguished career as one of the leading women in commercial real estate in upstate New York. Dorothy is Vice President of MJ Peterson Real Estate, Commercial Division.
Dorothy is also one of the co-founders of Father Sam’s Pocket Bread which launched in 1977 and is now sold throughout the United States.
In 2006 that Dorothy discovered her true passion and founded Grammology.com — a web site which serves as her vehicle to share stories and experiences which aim to provide insight into family dynamics. Her advise is from the heart and contains the wisdom of a life filled with triumph (7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and a large blended family) and tragedy that only a Grandmother can offer.
Her personal experiences on such topics as divorce, marriage and remarriage, pioneering a generation of working mothers and single parents, surviving breast cancer, losing a child, and actively participating in the upbringing of two generations of children.
Her philosophy of “generational rearing” — the art of women gathering together to raise their families — influences those around her and encourages an uncommon togetherness in our world of nuclear families.
