How does one ever get over finding out that your husband of 48 years lived 2 lives.. The shock and betrayal are so hard to put behind me.
When you realize that your whole marriage was a lie, you somehow lose all your self worth.
I have given up friends and family and traveled 3000 miles to find myself again. After 5 years I can say that my days are now filled with hope for my future and have asked God to get me through the rough spots. After all these years I have watched myself grow and realize just how strong I really am. I am a survivor...

Due to mid-life crises for my husband, our marriage is in the process of ending. He had an affair at 60 and it has ended ur 40 year marriage. It has been one year to the day that I found out. It has been a rough ride, but time heals and it is comforting to have found this site and know there are other women going through this too.

Just read your articles, wish I had 3 yrs ago when initial shock and grief horrific, still is but can see things more clearly now.Would like to send Laura Andrassy my support as similar events in my marriage break up.Why can't this be more open and general public understand,it's like until you are first hand they all think it is in your imagination. [email protected]

Oh boy, we are really racking up the letters here at First Wives World. Another reader wrote this week to thank us for being here and to relate the story of her broken marriage:
"I'm going through the end of a divorce after a 19-year marriage because of (you guessed it...) my husband's mid-life crisis/affair! Wow! Kind of an epidemic, wouldn't you say?! Anyway, I'm in the process of getting my first full-time job in 17 years and trying to live in this house with my two sons, all by myself.

It has been quite a ride and I see so much potential in this
navigating alone. Thank you so much for your website. Until I get
employed, I have way too much free time and had been online browsing dating sites....YIKES!! This is much more productive.

Not that wallowing in this divorce is what I want to do, but to know how many other women are on this journey makes me feel like I, too, can make it and come out of this whole thing better than ever. Thanks!!"

Thank you for reading and yes, it is truly comforting to know that there are other women out there who are navigating the process of divorce. And even more comforting, they are moving beyond divorce, creating wholly new and satisfying lives for themselves!

http://www.firstwivesworld.com/community/discussions/ask-the-community/a-grateful-reader-writes#commentsAsk the CommunityMind and SpiritContemplating DivorceNavigating DivorceMoving Beyond DivorceFri, 05 Oct 2007 14:15:00 -0400Katherine McKee705 at http://www.firstwivesworld.com
