After several minutes he got up and moved over to where I was sitting.
We sat and talked for an hour or so, then we exchanged numbers and he asked if I would like to go out to dinner that Friday evening. I accepted - I had nothing planned for the weekend, so why not? One date turned into two, both of us feeling like there were possibilities.

I decided to ask him to my place for a Sunday afternoon of football and cold beer. After about three hours sitting close to each other on my couch, the half time activities between us started heating up. I quickly got up, regained composure, and told him that going any further at this moment was not what I wanted.

Of course, what was going on between his legs and the touchdown he wanted to score was not being understood by this rookie. It led to him pleading with me saying "I really care about you" and having sex wouldn't change anything, only "bring us closer in our relationship." Up went the penalty flag!

Relationship? We'd only been out twice! I told him this was too much to deal with, and he had to go. He grabbed his chest and asked if I had an aspirin? Okay, he really had to go.

A few hours later as I crawled into bed alone, the phone rang. It was the rookie, saying that when he left my apartment he had to go to the Emergency room with chest pains. I guess my interception was too much for the player!
http://firstwivesworld.com/moving_beyond_divorce/blog_entry/playing_player#comments mind and spirit moving beyond divorce sex and love wiveswire Thu, 11 Oct 2007 15:30:00 -0400 Jeanne Connolly 3494 at http://firstwivesworld.com
